Course Description
Our Bachelor’s Degree Program is designed for those who are passionate about practicing yoga. Our curriculum provides the tools you need to both deepen your individual practice as well as to give you the ability to share your Yoga experience with other people. On our courses you will learn to give yoga classes on 4 basic Yoga types: Hatha Yoga, Kriya Yoga, Mantra Yoga and Pranayama Yoga. Additionally you will learn professional lecturing.
We focus on developing and finetuning presentation and workshop skills for professional yoga teachers such as: voice strength and quality, presentation style and practice teaching workshops to the training group and to the public.
In an online environment shared with other accomplished, motivated, mature students, the program’s flexible format allows participants to accomplish their goals without disrupting personal, family, and professional commitments. Students who complete the academic coursework will graduate from Open Yoga University with a Bachelor of Science in Yoga.
Students who complete the Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies will be able to demonstrate:
- A
broad understanding of theory and practice of Yoga.
- Critical
thinking skills via analysis and material studied in the contemporary studying
method in Yoga.
- Preparedness
to conduct practical classes on 4 basic Yoga types: Hatha Yoga, Kriya Yoga, Mantra Yoga,
Pranayama Yoga and Meditation.
- Preparedness
to do lecturing on Yoga and to hold seminars.

Curriculum
The Open Yoga University online Bachelor’s Degree completion program consists of 100-weeks online learning.
Courses
After the Bachelor’s Degree program, you will be able to hold yoga classes on the 4 basic types of yoga, to carry theoretical lecturing and meditation classes. You will learn to practice and teach the classical Yoga, complete Yoga Instructor advanced courses and become a certified Yoga Teacher.
Specializations
Candidates choose to enroll in one of the following specializations, engaging in teaching work centered on methods and techniques specific to the particular subject:
- Hatha and Kriya Yoga
- Hatha and Mantra Yoga
- Hatha Yoga and Meditation
- Hatha and Pranayama Yoga
Admission
The Bachelor’s Degree Program seeks candidates for admission who are academically well qualified and fully prepared to successfully maximize this unique pedagogical approach. The program is designed for mature and motivated adult learners who desire to complete their Bachelor Degree within a virtual community of similarly high-achieving individuals. Candidates for admission should be ready to make a commitment to this selective program and participate in rigorous courses with students like themselves.
The admissions committee considers far more than prior academic records to select students that meet our ideals. While reviewing candidates, the committee will look for:
- Successfully completed Associate Degree (60 credits)
- Filled and handed application form with all required documents
- Work/professional activities indicating maturity and appropriate motivation
- Demonstrated commitment to complete this special program
The
admissions committee will also consider the applicant’s life experiences and
professional activities as an indication of preparedness to commit and engage
in this program.
