Pre-University

Course Description

Our Pre-University’s Program is designed for those who are passionate about practicing yoga and have a mind to study at Open Yoga University. You will learn the fundamental yoga theory and basic principles of yoga. In addition, you will also have a possibility to check your level of yoga knowledge and test IQ. You can do it manually on yogaopenyoga.com or use our Pre-University Program.

Students, who complete the Pre-University Program in Open Yoga University, will be able to take admission for The Associate’s Degree Program.

Having completed the Pre-University Program at OYU will be able:

  • To demonstrate a very basic understanding of the theory and practice of our Yoga school.
  • To take the final decision if you would like to apply for the Accociate Degree Program.
  • To do the basic practical excercises as well as to get aquainted with our main approaches to teaching and practicing of the basic Yoga types.

Curriculum

The Pre-University Course Duration Program of Open Yoga University consists of 24-weeks online learning.

Courses

You will get an insight into the main theory of yoga, its basic principles and test your yoga IQ with our Pre-University’s Program. After the Pre-University’s Program, you will be prepared to continue your study in Open Yoga University.

Admission

The Pre-University’s Program seeks candidates for admission who are academically well qualified and fully prepared to enhance this unique pedagogical approach. The program is designed for motivated adult learners (age above 18). Candidates for admission should be ready to make a commitment to this selective program and participate in the suggested intensive courses with other students.

The admission committee considers far more than prior academic records to select students that meets our ideals. While reviewing candidates, the committee will rely on the following criteria:

  • Filled and handed application form with all required documents
  • Work/professional activities indicating maturity and appropriate motivation
  • Demonstrated commitment to complete this special program
  • The equivalent of the appropriate English certificate (TOEFL / IELTS)
  • College-level course in mathematics or the related quantitative area (SAT / ACT / GMAT / GRE)

The admission committee will also consider the applicant’s life experiences and professional activities as an indication of preparedness to commit and engage in this special program. The admission committee meets regularly and makes decisions on a rolling admissions basis.
